Since I was little I’d always wanted to visit the Taj Mahal, the world’s biggest monument dedicated to love, and to be honest it is one of the most mesmerizing (if not to say the most) constructions I’ve ever seen in my life. We arrived early in the morning so we were able to catch the sunrise as we were entering the mausoleum, then you cross some security measures and enter the first courtyard before seeing the Taj.
As you cross the first red construction that is the entrance to the Taj you can see hundreds of people around you, all joined together to enter one of the World Wonders, and when you cross it you see it there: a gigantic white marble building, with green gardens all around it and a large thin fountain leading up to you, with the Taj’s reflection in the water.
Words are short to describe the feeling you get when you see it for the first time, in my opinion the Taj is not over but underestimated. The feeling of joy and purity that you feel (or at least I felt) while visiting it are incredible, and even after hours in this place you just don’t feel like you’ve seen it enough.
You can see two small red stone mosques that surround the Taj, both facing it from left and right sides; all the construction is made entirely out of white marble and this is probably one of it’s most appealing features, the sun reflects against it and gives it a sort of gold tone.
To enter the Taj Mahal you need to remove your shoes, and you can go inside to visit the Tomb (this is a mausoleum after all) of the beloved wife of the Mughal emperor. The Taj is indeed one of the top highlights of India, if you’re ever in Agra please don’t hesitate to visit the world’s biggest and most beautiful monument to love.
Desde chiquita siempre quise visitar el Taj Mahal, el monumento más grande al amor, y para ser honesta ahorita que lo visité puedo decir que es una de las construcciones (si no es que la más) impresionantes que he visto en toda mi vida. Llegamos temprano en la mañana para poder ver el amanecer mientras entrábamos, después cruzamos un poco de seguridad y entramos al primer patio antes de ver el Taj.
Mientras cruzas el primer edificio rojo que te da entrada al Taj hay cientos de personas caminando contigo, todas reunidas aquí para poder ver una de las Maravillas del Mundo, después cruzas y ahí está enfrente de ti: una construcción gigante toda hecha de mármol, con jardines verdes y una fuente larga que corre hacia tí, con el reflejo del Taj Mahal en el agua.
No hay palabras suficientes para poder describir el sentimiento que tienes al ver el Taj por primera vez, en mi opinión el Taj no es sobreestimado si no subestimado. El sentimiento de felicidad y de pureza que sientes al verlo de verdad no tiene precio, puedes estar horas ahí y sentir que no lo has visto suficiente.
Algo que le da todavía un toque más de inmensidad es que alrededor del Taj hay dos mezquitas rojas, una a la izquierda y una a la derecha; y el Taj está completamente construido de mármol lo cual deja que la luz se refleje en él y cambie de color dependiendo el sol.
Para entrar al Taj debes de quitarte los zapatos, y puedes ver la tumba (ya que es un mausoleo después de todo) de la esposa difunta del emperador Mughal. El Taj en verdad es una de las partes más memorables de la India, y créanme que vale la pena visitar el monumento más grande al amor.
