I’d only been to Tulum once before, when I was a little girl and I actually never thought I’d return so quickly. The first time I came here was to see the famous ruins and to learn a little bit about them, it was a one day trip but I never thought this place would change so much in so little time. This time we came to Tulum for a bachelorette party, and the lifestyle and vibe of this town is completely different. Unfortunately our welcome to Tulum was nothing like we would’ve wanted it to be, it poured rain on all of us and we arrived to our hotel soaking wet.
The next day the weather got much better and we were able to really enjoy the warm weather and tropical vibe of this place! Tulum is now a days known for its famous 5 star hotels such as Azulik and BE Tulum, and even though they are truly gorgeous locations their prices can really be high. Which is why I recommend that if you don’t want to spend millions on your stay you can rent an Airbnb and visit the beach clubs of these hotels; you can spend the day here, eat or take a drink while watching the sunset.
Tulum is indeed gorgeous and a paradise to relax, tan and enjoy the beautiful beaches that Mexico has to offer. You can also snorkel, scuba dive, visit cenotes and walk around the local stores and gourmet restaurants that are new in town. If you’re into nightlife you can also go out to a bar at any hotel or if you’re lucky you can go to a season party like the Full Moon Party at Papaya Playa, or many other parties that are organized throughout the year.
Cancun and Playa del Carmen are also beautiful places to visit while in Quintana Roo, but if you’re looking to get away for a while and not be in a very full of tourists city then Tulum is the place for you. We loved being able to soak up the sun, beach and swim in the sea while being able to relax and forget our problems for a while. Tulum is indeed a tropical paradise worth the visit.
Al haber visitado Tulum de chiquita, nunca pensé en que cuando volvería (si es que lo haría) sería a un lugar completamente diferente. La primera vez que vine fue a visitar las famosas ruinas de Tulum y solamente de paso ya que estaba quedándome en Cancún, pero ahora visitamos esta pequeña ciudad de Quintana Roo para una despedida de soltera. Llegamos de noche y desafortunadamente nuestra recibida al tropical destino de Tulum fue una tormenta tropical que se encargó de empaparnos a todas sin dejar una prenda de nuestro cuerpo seco, sin duda no fue la mejor manera de iniciar nuestra vacación.
Al día siguiente el clima mejoró y realmente pudimos disfrutar de la playa y el clima tropical que tiene que ofrecer este lugar; hoy en día Tulum es conocido por sus hoteles 5 estrellas como Azulik y BE Tulum, y a pesar de que son hermosos el precio de verdad puede ser muy elevado. Así que una recomendación que les puedo dar es que si no quieren gastar demasiado en hospedaje pero quieren visitar estos lugares es quedarse en un Airbnb e ir a los clubs de playa de los hoteles. En ellos pueden comer, o tomar drinks en el atardecer y disfrutar de las instalaciones sin gastar una enorme cantidad de dinero.
Tulum es sin duda un paraíso para relajarse, asolearse y disfrutar de las playas más hermosas de México. Puedes ir a hacer snorkel o bucear, ir a cenotes, y a recorrer las tiendas locales y restaurantes gourmets que te ofrece la zona e inclusive ir a alguna de las fiestas de los clubs de playas que hay en temporadas altas como la Full Moon Party en Papaya Playa.
Cancún y Playa del Carmen también son lugares muy turísticos de la zona, pero si quieres estar en una zona un poco menos atiborrada de turistas, con más espacio y conectado a la naturaleza entonces Tulum es el lugar para tí. A nosotras nos encantó poder desconectarnos de la ciudad y enfocarnos en disfrutar del sol, la playa y el mar. Un completo paraíso tropical.
