Toronto is a city famous for it’s trendy buildings, restaurants and new neighborhoods, and that’s exactly why we decided to visit it. We arrived quite late so we went straight to the hotel to check in & get a good nights sleep. The next morning we had lunch (since we woke up at 11 am😳) at a restaurant called the “O n B” (for more info about all of our food & plates in our Canada trip go check out the Tips section) and after that we decided to go check out the Art Gallery of Ontario, the whole museum is full of new expositions and artists, and it’s architecture is incredible (all made of wood, if you get a chance to visit it I would definitely recommend walking up the staircase!)
Later that day we went to the famous Distillery District, if you haven’t heard of this place before, it’s a new neighborhood at the east of the city full of trendy restaurants & innovative shops; all the buildings are made of red bricks so it gives the place a harmonious ambience. We ate at the “Cluny” restaurant (french & exquisite!) and later we strolled & shopped down the streets. That night we dined at “Richmond Station” and returned to our hotel walking to get a better view of the city (everything in a city looks better at night!) The next morning me & my dad went for a morning run to the HarbourFront, later we had breakfast at the St. Lawrence market and bought some fresh goodies there too. For the rest of the afternoon we walked through King & Queen Streets getting to know local and new shops & galleries (and eating some Ice Cream from Eva’s Original Chimneys).
Our last stop was the CN Tower & sadly we weren’t able to go up (there was a 3 hour line wait so I do recommend getting tickets on advance, we couldn’t wait because we had dinner reservations), we also wanted to do the Edge Walk but tickets were also sold out! So instead we went to the Aquarium, we love visiting aquariums because as being divers we get really caught up in the species and all you can learn about them! That night we had dinner at “Buca” (an Italian restaurant & a must!) and we returned to the hotel to pack since we were leaving early the next morning. We loved Toronto & even though we didn’t get a chance to do everything we had planned, they say you should always leave one thing undone so you can return soon, and hopefully we will.

Toronto es una ciudad famosa por sus edificios, restaurantes y barrios modernos, y fue justo por esto que decidimos visitarla. Llegamos bastante tarde al hotel así que hicimos el Check in y nos fuimos directo a dormir. La siguiente mañana fuimos a comer (ya que nos despertamos a las 11 de la mañana😳) a un restaurante llamado “O n B” (para más información y consejos sobre la comida en Canadá puedes buscarlo en la sección de tips.) y después decidimos ir a un museo de arte llamado el Art Gallery of Ontario, todo el museo está repleto de exposiciones y artistas nuevos de todo el mundo y la arquitectura del museo en sí es impresionante (todo hecho de madera, si tienes la oportunidad de ir definitivamente te recomiendo subir por la escalera central!)
Más tarde ese mismo día fuimos al Distillery District, si nunca has escuchado de este barrio antes es una zona al este de la ciudad llena de restaurantes y tiendas “hipsters” o de moda; todos los edificios están hechos de ladrillos entonces la zona es toda roja y le da un ambiente de calidez increíble. Comimos en el restaurante “Cluny” (francés y delicioso) y después caminamos y compramos por las callecitas del barrio. Esa misma noche cenamos en “Richmond Station”y regresamos al hotel caminando ya que una de las cosas que más nos gusta de una ciudad es verla de noche, puedes apreciar muchas cosas de una perspectiva diferente. La mañana siguiente mi papa y yo fuimos a correr por el HarbourFront de la ciudad, y luego nos dirigimos al Mercado de St. Lawrence para desayunar en sus puestos y comprar comida local. Por el resto de la tarde caminamos por las calles de Kingston & Queen conociendo tiendas y galerías locales y nuevas (y claro que paramos en Eva’s Original por un helado).
Nuestra última parada fue la torre de CN y tristemente no pudimos subir a ella (había una fila de 3 horas y teníamos reservaciones para cenar , así que si tienes planeado ir definitivamente te recomiendo apartar los boletos desde antes), también queríamos hacer el EdgeWalk (caminas en la torre desde afuera) pero tampoco había lugar! Así que nos fuimos al acuario que está alado de la torre, nos encanta visitar acuarios ya que como somos buzos nos interesa mucho ver nuevas especies y conocer sobre ellas. Esa noche cenamos en “Buca” (un restaurante italiano delicioso) y regresamos al hotel a empacar ya que nos iríamos el día siguiente temprano. Nos encanto Toronto y aunque no tuvimos la oportunidad de hacer todo lo que habíamos planeado estuvimos felices, ya que como dicen por ahí, siempre deja algo sin hacer para que regreses pronto, y con suerte esperemos que sí.
