Whistler wonderland is a term well used when referring to a beautiful snowed location where you are, and that’s exactly what Whistler meant to us. As we arrived there wasn’t much snow, but what we didn’t know was that the next morning a white paradise would be waiting for us. Here are our top tips that helped us a lot to make our visit to Whistler much more enjoyable:
- Rent a chofer, bus or shuttle service to go from Vancouver to Whistler. There are shuttle busses you can take from Vancouver Centre to Whistler Village from $30 CAD. (Use this link if you need to book one: https://www.whistlerrides.ca ). We personally rented a car that took us from our hotel in Vancouver to our home in Whistler. To be honest there’s no need to have a car in Whistler; There’s a free bus (Bus #5) that will take you around the Village and renting a car will only cost more.
- Hotels are comfy but houses are personal. We stayed in a local house we rented from the canadian Aloha Whistler company (http://www.alohawhistler.com/ ) , and were extremely pleased with the results. There was someone waiting for us when we arrived to our home and the house made us feel at home the whole time.
- I would definitely recommend booking all your restaurants in advance if you’re visiting on peak season, many restaurants will be overbooked if you don’t and you wouldn’t want to miss a great place because of this.
- If you’re planning on skiing or snowboarding you can buy your lift tickets in advance and get a discount, you can save up to $5 CAD per ticket per day! So be prepared and save yourself some money. (https://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/purchase/tickets-and-passes/winter-lift-tickets )
The weather was lovely and we were fortunate enough to have snowfall every night we were there, so it’s safe to say we had some of the best snow ever. We skied in the mornings and then rested some afternoons, went shopping on Whistler Village and had dinner in some delicious places! El clima estuvo estupendo y fuimos muy suertudos ya que nos nevó todas las noches, así que la nieve que nos tocó esquiando definitivamente fue la mejor. Esquiamos en las mañanas, descansamos algunas tardes, fuimos al pueblo de Whistler y comimos en lugares deliciosos (Pueden encontrar los lugares a los que fuimos en la sección de comida).
