Singapore was without a doubt one of the most impressive modern cities we visited in South East Asia, when we arrived we were completely stunned by the amount of buildings, immaculate infrastructure and perfect order this city had. Our hotel offered a perfect view of Marina Bay Sands and some of the most stunning landmarks of this city, so we were very excited to start our journey here and explore every corner of Singapore.
There’s a hundred things to do in this city, weather its shopping at the Marina Bay Sands Shoppes, eating at some incredible restaurants, visiting one of the many botanical gardens the city is proud of, visiting little India, meeting the singapore Merlion and so many other places. But what we truly enjoyed about this country were the little things and activities we were able to do here. One of our truly favorite activities was to go for a morning run around Marina Bay Sands and its surroundings, it was incredible to see so many people going for a run while exploring this city, you can run all around the river and encounter many new neighbourhoods as you go further into town. Completely worth the early wake up.
We also rented a Singapore River Cruise tour, but at night! This was a great choice because we were able to see the light show of Marina Bay Sands from the cruise and then go see the nightlife of the city. It was a great way to end an amazing day of exploring. The botanical gardens, the Gardens by the Bay, and so many other natural landscapes in this city are indeed breathtaking, I really recommend you to take some time of your day to truly admire how many species and types of fauna there is in this city! It’s incredible!
Talking about food there’s so much to eat and so many options that it’d be hard only to pick a few. There’s Chef’s Table, Imperial Treasure (for the best peking duck ever), Warong Nasi Pariaman (for the beast indonesian food and great $) and so many other options! There’s all types of cuisine here, all you have to do is think what type of food you’d like to eat today and find a restaurant that suits you.
Finally I couldn’t finish this article to recommend this; if you’re not staying at the Marina Bay Sands (just like we weren’t) you should go one day to the bar on the top of the towers and get a drink while watching the sunset on the city! This is without a doubt one of the best memories of this city we have, and you’ll be completely in shock by the view you’ll get. Singapore without a doubt completely surprised us! We were left terribly happy by the delicious food we ate, the great service and kind people we met everywhere and the stunning views and landmarks this city offered. I can’t wait to go back to the Lion City one day.
Singapur fue sin duda una de las ciudades del Sudeste Asiático que más nos sorprendió, cuando llegamos no podíamos creer la cantidad de edificios, infraestructura perfecta y el orden de esta ciudad! Nuestro hotel daba hacia la famosa área de Marina Bay Sands y podíamos ver desde la ventana algunos de los monumentos más impresionantes de la ciudad, así que estábamos muy emocionados por ver qué nos iba a ofrecer esta ciudad.
Sin duda hay cientos de cosas que se pueden hacer en esta ciudad; puedes ir de compras en las miles de tiendas en Marina Bay Shoppes, visitar uno de los cientos de jardines de la ciudad, ir al barrio de pequeño India, conocer el famoso Merlion de la ciudad y muchas actividades más. Pero lo que a nosotros más nos gustó fueron las cosas pequeñas y las actividades que hicimos aquí. Una de nuestra cosas favoritas fue que en las mañanas íbamos a correr en la orilla del río por toda la ciudad, pasabas Marina Bay Sands y después el camino te iba llevando entre diferentes calles y barrios. Esta sin duda fue una de las mejores formas de conocer la ciudad, vale la pena despertarse temprano para esto.
También rentamos el tour en la noche que te lleva en barquito por el río, fue una muy buena idea por que así pudimos ver el show de luces de Marina Bay Sands y después admirar la ciudad y la vida de noche desde lejos. Los jardines Botánicos y los Gardens by the bay también son atracciones que valen completamente la pena! Hay cientos de tipos de flores y plantas y enserio es una joya de la ciudad que deben visitar.
Ahora al tema de la comida, es imposible poder decir solamente 2 o 3 restaurantes de la ciudad! Hay demasiados y de todo, esta ciudad es tan multicultural que es imposible solo mencionar algunos, está Chef’s Table, Imperial Treasure (para el mejor pato pekín del mundo), Warong Nasi Pariaman (muy buena comida de Indonesia y un súper $) y cientos de opciones más. Mi recomendación sería que ustedes vean que tipo de comida se les antoja y que pregunten en su hotel o a locales, estoy segura que encontrarán uno para ustedes!
Finalmente no podría acabar este artículo sin recomendarles esto; si no se quedan en Marina Bay Sands (nosotros no nos quedamos) vayan una tarde al bar de hasta arriba y vean el atardecer mientras se toman una bebida! Esta es la mejor forma de admirar la ciudad y la vista impresionante que ofrece! Vale cien por ciento la pena! Singapur sin duda alguna nos sorprendió! Nos dejó con un delicioso sabor de boca por toda la comida que probamos tan rica, el servicio y la amabilidad de la gente fue impresionante y la vista y o hermosa que es esta ciudad nos encantó. Muero por regresar algún día a la ciudad León y poder volver a experimentarla de nuevo.
