China has always been a foreign word to me. I’ve always imagined it like the Mulan movie; full of temples, rice fields and only a few buildings. Which is why I was completely amazed when we arrived at Shanghai.
This city is the most modern and up to date city in China, and since you arrive you realize how much this country has advanced throughout time! Firstly the Bund is one of the most amazing views you’ll see! Dozens of sky scrapers paint the view of this beautiful sight in the city. You can see the second tallest building in the world with 132 floors and all your mind can think is wow!
Shanghai is home for more than 20 million people, everywhere you go there are hundreds of buildings, each one hosting more and more families; each one with their own story and lives.
This city will amaze you, from the new food, flavors and textures to the culture shock! Everything’s different! The language, the people and the culture are all so diverse and interesting!
There’s hundreds of things to do here! ( I have a blog post below talking about all of them) But my favorite activities would definitely be visiting the Yu Yuen Gardens, the Local Alleys of Shanghai, taking a boat tour of the Bund and trying local food such as Dim Sum!

China siempre fue un país extraño para mí. Siempre me lo imaginé como la película de Mulan; lleno de templos, campos de arroz y solo algunos edificios. Por lo que estuve completamente sorprendida cuando llegué a Shanghai al ver una ciudad de primer mundo moderna y completamente avanzada.
Esta ciudad es la más moderna de todo China, y desde que llegas te das cuenta de lo que ha progresado el país a través del tiempo! Primero el Bund es uno de los lugares más impresionantes para admirar la ciudad! Hay cientos de rascacielos que se ven por toda la ciudad y hasta puedes ver el segundo edificio más alto de todo el mundo con más de 132 pisos; la verdad lo único que yo pude pensar fue wow!
Shanghai es hogar para más de 20 millones de personas, a donde vayas hay cientos de edificios que son hogar de miles de personas que viven juntos en pequeños departamentos, todos con sus propias historias y vidas. Esta ciudad de verdad es impresionante, la comida, los sabores y las texturas nuevas son impresionantes! Todo es diferente; el lenguaje, la cultura y la gente, aprendes mucho al estar ahí unas cuantas horas.
Hay cientos de cosas que hacer en Shanghai (tengo un post hablando de las mejores actividades que hacer en esta ciudad) pero mis favoritas definitivamente serían los jardines Yu Yuan, los callejones y el barco que te enseña toda la vista el Bund! También comer comida local como el Dim Sum vale mucho la pena!
Si visitas China y estás buscando un lado moderno y globalizado, Shanghai es la ciudad ideal para tí.
