Niagara Falls

We arrived to the Falls with anxiousness running through us, we would only be staying there for one night so we decided to make the best out of our time. Our hotel was “Falls faced” so we could see the Falls from our windows! We left our belongings and quickly ran to the HornBlower station to buy our tickets and board the last boat of the day that would take us under the falls (we bought the tickets right there, so there’s no need to buy them before.)

The famous Horn Blower is quite an experience, they give you a red plastic poncho (recyclable of course) and then you ride the boat with about 150 other people who are as excited as you are to get close to the falls. The boat starts slowly and then before you know it you’re under the falls getting soaking wet! Seeing the falls from so close makes you realize the immensity of them & how huge they are! That night we had dinner at Morton’s (home of the best meat by far!) and then we went to sleep early because we had an early wake up to go see the falls one last time before hitting the road to get to our next destination.

The next morning we bought the “Behind the Falls” tour & to be honest this was the best thing to do at the falls! You can see the falls from behind (underneath) which is amazing, but the best part is seeing them from the dock underneath beside, you get super wet but see how huge they are & it’s totally worth it! After this we checked out of our hotel & headed to our next destination “Muskoka Lakes”, at the end we really enjoyed the Falls! The amount of water they have is amazing & they transmit an inexplicable power and energy we’ll hopefully feel once again someday. 

Llegamos a las cataratas con emoción en nuestras venas, solo nos quedaríamos ahí por una noche así que decidimos sacarle el mayor provecho. Nuestro hotel tenía vista hacia las cataratas entonces podías verlas desde la ventana de tu cuarto! Dejamos nuestras cosas y corrimos rápidamente hacia el “HornBlower” (el barco que te lleva debajo de las cataratas) para poder comprar los últimos boletos del día y subirnos a el. Subirte a este barco es toda una experiencia, te subes a él con otras 150 personas y te dan un poncho de plástico (reciclado por supuesto!) y de ahí te llevan debajo de las cataratas.

Es increíble ya que desde abajo puedes captar la inmensidad de ellas, te empapas en el barco pero vale completamente la pena ya que verlas desde abajo no tiene precio. Esa noche cenamos en un restaurante de carnes llamado “Mortons” y todo estuvo delicioso, después nos fuimos a dormir temprano ya que al día siguiente queríamos ver las cataratas una última vez antes de ir a nuestro siguiente destino. Nos despertamos temprano y fuimos a comprar el tour the “Behind the Falls” (debajo de las cataratas) y para ser honesta yo creo que esto es lo que más vale la pena si vas a las cataratas, el tour tiene unos túneles detrás y debajo de las cataratas que te deja ver cómo cae el agua enfrente de ti, pero lo más padre es la plataforma abajo que de verdad te acerca a las cataratas! Sí, te vuelves a empapar, pero vale cien por ciento la pena ya que ves claramente la cantidad de energía y agua que pasa cada segundo y es increíble!

Después de esto nos subimos a nuestro coche y continuamos nuestra travesía ahora hacia “Muskoka Falls”, al final disfrutamos mucho nuestro tiempo en las cataratas! Es inexplicable el poder y la energía que estas te transmiten y al mismo tiempo te hacen sentir en paz, esperemos algún día poder volvernos a sentir así.
