I’d heard about Bryce Canyon on various occasions, a National Park on the US known for its unique formations/pillars called hoodoos that spread throughout the Park: but it wasn’t until we visited it last October that I finally learned why this destination was so famous. It’s important you know Bryce is 1:20 hr away from Zion and 2:20 hrs away from St. George (the nearest town), which is why I recommend you book your whole day for Bryce and if you can, find a nearby place where you can stay.
The park is pretty big which is why upon arrival we decided to go by the Visitor’s Center and learn all there was to know about Bryce. We decided to do the Queen’s Trail since we’d heard so much about it before. When you start this trail you are greeted by a lookout point of the whole park, this is without a doubt one of the highlights of this park; you’re able to see it all from above and beyond, and to be honest, it’s spectacular.
We hiked the Queen’s Trail and at the middle decided to also hike Peekaboo trail, this was an excellent decision since Peekaboo was less crowded and we were able to see some unique views of Bryce from above and below. Peekaboo also has a below view from the arches the hoodoos have managed to make, this was something we were stunned to be able to admire.
Bryce Canyon is spectacular, there you’ll find terrains and views of all sorts; uphill, downhill, shadows and sun, bridges and tunnels all made from rocks and even trees and streams, and you’ll definitely be impressed by the amount of colors you’ll see like bright oranges, yellows, greens and reds. If Bryce taught us anything it’s that you have to enjoy the view, the ride and let yourself be surprised by the unexpected path; especially when there are views like these on the way.
PACKING TIP: Some things I believe can’t miss on your suitcase if you ever visit Bryce are: comfortable hiking shoes (either boots or sneakers), light dry clothes, hat or cap, sunscreen, sunglasses, a backpack, lots of water and above all a camera, you won’t want to miss capturing these incredible views.
This destination was a 10/10 for us, we were completely stunned and will definitely be returning. If you’re ever near definitely visit Bryce Canyon, you won’t be disappointed.
Había escuchado varias veces de Bryce Canyon, un Parque Nacional en Estados Unidos conocido por sus formaciones únicas llamadas hoodoos que decoran todo el parque; pero no fue hasta que llegamos que nos dimos cuenta de lo único que es este lugar. Es importante mencionar que Bryce Canyon se encuentra a 1:20 hrs de Zion y a 2:20 hrs de St. George (el pueblo más cercano) por lo que recomiendo que aparten un día completo si quieren visitarlo o busquen un lugar cercano para quedarse.
El parque es bastante grande por lo que llegamos al centro de visitantes a preguntar un poco acerca de los diferentes hikes y poder elegir el correcto; acabamos eligiendo uno de los más famosos llamado Queen ‘s Trail. Al llegar al principio de este hike te topas con un mirador, aquí logras ver la gran mayoría del parque a lo lejos y es sin duda alguna el momento más impresionante de la visita; llegar y ver a Bryce Canyon por primera vez, no tiene precio.
Caminamos el Queen’s Trail y le agregamos a la mitad otro trail llamado Peekaboo, que sin duda alguna fue algo que valió 100% la pena; cabe recalcar que nuestro hike se extendió 1 hora y media adicional & 3 millas extras, pero las vistas que puedes encontrar desde aquí fueron únicas y sin casi nada de gente. Puedes ver Bryce desde abajo e inclusive admiras los hoodoos con sus famosos arcos desde abajo, este trail es único.
Bryce Canyon es increíble, en él encontrarás hikes y vistas de todo tipo; con subidas, bajadas, sombra y sol, puentes hechos de formaciones rocosas, túneles, árboles y hasta pequeños ríos, todo entre colores rojizos, naranjas y amarillos. Si algo te enseña Bryce es lo diverso e inesperado que puede ser el camino, y cómo es importante dejarte sorprender. Te recomiendo llevar un sandwich o algo de comer fácil de cargar, así podrás parar a la mitad a comer y admirar la vista mientras lo haces.
PACKING TIP: Les aconsejo si van a viajar a este destino llevar buenas botas o tenis para caminar, ropa cómoda y ligera, sombrero o gorra, lentes de sol, agua (mucha), bloqueador, una backpack y sobre todo una cámara, querrán tomar fotos de todo mientras están aquí.
Este destino nos fascinó y ya estamos planeando regresar pronto, es un lugar imperdible si están en Utah en busca de hikes. 10/10
